Relevant Standard: EN 81 - 1 This is a system which is driven by pumping hydraulic oil to cylinders by means of a motor. Hydraulic elevators are ideals solutions when there is no machine room above the elevator shaft and in short distances. They can be constructed with capacities ranging from 100 kg up to 25,000 kg. Hydraulic elevators are available in the following types based on their elevator shafts, travel distance and carrying capacities: 1. Direct drive at the center point. 2. Direct drive with L-carcass connected to a single cylinder. 3. Indirect drive with L-carcass connected to a single cylinder. 4. Drive with double cylinders by sides. 5. Indirect drive with double cylinders by sides. 6. Drive with retracting cylinder. 7. Hydraulic elevator without machine room. The best solutions are decided based on the dimensions of the elevator shaft, travel distance and lifting capacity.
